I am not ashamed of God! If believing in Him and His Word is considered "intolerant", "ignorant", "Hateful", "close-minded". etc. Well, that is just silly and intellectually dishonest. Many people want to twist His Word around to fit their lifestyle and mold God into something else but that's not following God. That's making up a new one. Of course, they make up new definitions of words and give them new and more politically correct meanings. Since when is anything political "correct" anyway? Words don't hold much weight anymore when you blur their meanings. You cannot really be friends with the world and friends with God at the same time. They are on opposite sides. The world in general is an enemy of God. (Jas 4:4 - You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.) That does not mean we can't love people or ever associate with those who disagree. On the contrary, Jesus ate with sinners all the time. Not to be LIKE them though. To enlighten them and offer them salvation. The world will love you only as long as you accept and agree with them. They will (as proven all the time) drop you like a hot potato and throw you under the bus once you stand by a conviction they don't agree with. All of the sudden, the person who was really smart and admirable becomes a loony or leper for stating an opposing opinion that society has marked off limits. Forget the fact that Hollywood and the media are who drive popular opinion and what their lives look like. If they decide something's right or wrong, that is their own gospel. Don't be fooled. Don't try to be like them or feel like you can only be happy if the world accepts you in spite of your faith. Jesus says they won't! Look what they did to Him after all.
On Judgement Day, no matter how many friendships you have built up, they cannot help you. They will not stand by you and they will not defend you. But Jesus will. His love for you will not be swayed by your opinions. He will not ever leave you or forsake you. That is why the choice is clear to me. I hope it is to you as well.
I find it ironic that the same folks who claim to be so tolerant and open minded suddenly become crazy and wildly intolerant and close minded to anything and everything Christian. But they don't see it that way I suppose.
On a lighter note, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I know we did. We went to church and taught Sunday School together, Todd and I. It was fun. We had our parents over for a ham dinner and they hid egss for the girls. We had Scripture hidden in random eggs and the girls had to read the passage from each egg they opened that had one. Then they got to trade it in for a prize. I was blessed very much by our pastor's message. The focus has to be on Christ and His resurrection. It's what we put our hope in in this world and not about bunnies or eggs! Amen?
Well, I hope you are all doing well. God bless and I'll check back soon.
Lori

Amen!
