CHRIST-mas!

Well, it has been a while! The girls have kept me busy with homeschool and I spend more time on Facebook than I care to. It is fun seeing what all my old and new friends, family members, etc. are up to. But mostly, the games are a nice little escape between school subjects. I can't really get into anything lengthy b/c the girls usually need my help on studies sporadically. So although i am at the computer almost all day long, I don't have a ton of time to spend between subjects. So I finally have some free time to blog. I hope everyone is having an excellent Christmas season so far. We are just about done shopping (except last minute Todd!). We plan to have Todd's side over for Christmas Eve for snacks and fellowship. It should be fun to see everyone together. Then we will have our own Christmas together and head over to my aunt's for a couple hours and then back home to celebrate with Grammy and Papa! But most important, is the reason for the season! And of course, that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who deserves to be on the forefront always! He has been so good to us in so many ways. I am so blessed by Him daily. I cringe at how unworthy I am of His mercy and grace each day but am so thankful for it at the same time. I want the girls to truly understand and know how Awesome He is! They sang at church for all 3 services last Sunday (it was a long day!) and they attend Wednesday night bible study classes at church. Todd and I teach every 3rd Sunday in the Children's ministry and Todd leads worship for the 5th and 6th grade class while Bethany sings with him. It is really nice. I was looking into the girls singing Christmas carols for the elderly at a local hospice. So far, they have not called back to let us know what steps, if any, we need to take to be able to do that but I would love for them to feel the blessing of serving others as well as serving Christ. And it's for me too ;) I know music and songs are a special blessing to many people who have nothing else going on. I cannot imagine a better place to sing God's praises than to folks who are on their last days. And maybe even some Scripture reading if they allow it. (It is a Catholic hospice so I am sure they wouldn't object but the patients might! Who knows?) So that is what has been going on with us. Todd still works for Guitar Center and got a stellar annual review recently. I am still homeschooling the girls and Bethany has been such a challenge to say the least. Much prayer is needed in that area because the only thing harder than teaching a strong 6th grade curriculum is dealing with a 6th grade girl's attitude and emotions and insecurities! I keep telling her we don;t offer a drama department in homeschool! *lol* Anyway, I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and New Year's filled with Christ in your hearts! Bye for now! See you nect year!
