Baby Hannah Gets a Haircut!

I really do not remember the last time she got a haircut. Not a trim but a real haircut. Maybe never! But this little girl begged me over and over again (at least 2-3 times a month) to cut off her locks to donate to LOCKS FOR LOVE. It was just really on her heart to do it. The delay wasn't so much that I didn't want her to. It was more that I wanted to make sure she wasn't doing it for HER glory..you know, to show off how "sweet" she is. Although she is showing me more daily what a servant's heart she has, that was a big change and I wanted to make sure she understood it would take years to grow back that long again. She gets so many of her friends and Bethany's friends telling her how beautiful her hair is all the time. I just wanted to make sure she'd be ok with that initial shock and objections to it.
Sure enough, the strong objections have started from friends and will surely continue the first time her shocked friends and peers see her short hair. But I told her to remember what was in her heart to do this in the first place. The Holy Spirit led her to do this and He is blessed as a result. And some girl with cancer or lady losing her hair will be blessed too. And Hannah is blessed for doing it so it is clearly a WIN-WIN situation! As you can see by Bethany's face, she didn't like it at all. She loved doing her hair and make-up for her photo shoots. Plus, she likes long hair and was worried her friends might make fun of her. Some might. But Hannah was relentless about it. So after feeling a little sad and happy at the same time, I look at her now and think she is adorable and so blessed and thankful she is in our lives!!!!

  1. nice Bethany.. love the face! Way to go Hannah! So proud of you! Your hair is gorgeous, some little thing will enjoy it thoroughly! I can't believe how long it was to begin with! Wow wee. It is a worthy cause and takes so little of us, just some time to grow and then time to part ways with our hair! Congrats! Glad you have the right attitude for it too, very cool of you Lori to think about that...Love ya all! hugs and kisses!
