My mom just posted this photo on Facebook so I feel it is fitting to post it here because she just told me today, her cancer came back, yet again for the 3rd time. Aside from the myriad of other health issues, cancer is that "one" known as a "certain death" and many times, for good reason. But unlike the first time she was diagnosed, and again, the second confirmation of its return...this time, my mom's attitude has turned from doom and gloom to submission and hope. Instead of worrying, fretting and feelings of despair, it is a resolve that has taken over and I attribute it to God and hope she does too. She said, "If it is my time, then that's ok" and I feel thankful for that! We all know we are going to die. Plain and simple and sad as it is (because it was not God's original intention for us), it is a fact of life. Todd and I are excited for that day to meet our Lord and want to trust God in all of it but secretly hope it is after our kids are settled in their lives (you know - married with a hubby and kids...) But we know, death is imminent. So what do we do while we are still alive? Worry and fret? Or put our faith in Christ? Yes!!!!!!! That is the ONLY place we can have assurance AMEN??? So it is a good day when anyone I love has that peace...His peace! The only One who can give that kind of peace in the face of a serious illness, trial, circumstance, etc. Our Lord JESUS CHRIST! To Him be the GLORY! And I have prayed for my whole family as long as I have been a Christian. And for my Mom to have the attitude she has after another diagnosis, is huge! And I give God all the glory got breaking through! Praise God! To be continued....

Oh Lori, I'm so sorry to hear the diagnosis, but PRAISE THE LORD for her response! That can only happen by God's grace! I am praying for a full recovery, but also for God's perfect will in this. May He continue to be glorified through your mom and through your response as well! Thanks for posting this- please keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteWe will be keeping you all, especially your mom and dad in prayer from this recent news. We are so thankful to hear that she feels at peace, what a joy and blessing from the Lord, we know it is only by his grace that that is possible. We will pray for peace, praise, and joy during this time, that you all may be able to see the hand of God and His perfect will and plan through this time. Know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers, we love ya!!! Give the girls, Todd, and the family a hug from us! By the way, I love the pic of your Mom!
