We had a lot of fun in Big Bear with Grandma Joy and the kids and dogs! The dogs did great on the ride up and back! And we all had fun playing games (Grandma is the queen of games), boating/fishing (or trying to) and hiking, shopping, going to the waterpark, and just chilling out. It was very nice. Hannah wanted there to be thunderstorms so badly because we always notice those billowy clouds towards the mountains and let's face it, we have no weather in So. California! So it would have been fun but there was not a cloud in sight, until we left! Then we found out there were some crazy thunderstorms! Typical huh?
Then we got home and immediately packed up the dogs, kids, and everything but the kitchen sink to go camping at the beach! Todd rented a pop up trailer and we hung out at the beach for a few days. The dogs seemed to have fun and we just relaxed, ate smores, bbq'd, and even tried to sleep on the sand in a tent until the wind almost blew us over! Todd and I enjoyed it but the girls and dogs didn't. So Praise God we pulled off a double camping trip with the kids and the dogs! All within a week with no major issues. I was pleasantly surprised.
Sounds like you had a great trip, I mean trips! My boys love playing games with Grandma Joy, too. Last time we were at the beach house she taught them "Dont Wake Daddy". They loved it!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course the thunderstorms would come after you left! Isn't that how it always works out! Tell Hannah I love a good thunderstorm, too. We defiantly dont get enough of those around here!
So glad you were able to have a great time on both trips especially with them being back to back. I know Grandma enjoyed her time with you guys too! Speaking of thunderstorms... we are having one now! You ever want some crazy weather (other than mudslides and fires) then come on out!!!
